Lauren Leisse is an advocate for preventative care and holistic care.  Tune Up Holistic Care is the first step toward her dream of creating an all-encompassing wellness center. Over a decade ago, she graduated from The Soma Institute for Clinical Massage in Chicago and has been a massage therapist ever since.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePaul University, which paved the way for working with people with severe mental illness as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service Coordinator at various Psychiatric nursing homes throughout Chicago. She has also worked in a variety of well-known, award-winning spas in both Chicago and San Francisco. Each and every experience has given Lauren a unique look into the body-mind connection and drives her commitment towards continued growth in her field. In her spare time, she enjoys playing pool.

At an early age, Joseph developed an interest in Massage Therapy as a way to help friends and family, which led him to graduate from the National Holistic Institute (NHI). He offers a variety of modalities ranging from Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Shiatsu and Myofascial.  Already in this early stage of his career, he has developed innovative techniques that support Deep Tissue and Myofascial work.  He took his appreciation of Shiatsu & Deep Tissue and has adapted them to create a technique to restore and relax.  Joseph has a passion for supporting individuals with their recovery goals.

While competing in High School sports, Joshua developed a passion for the discipline of training, body building and instructing others to reach their health goals. That passion led him to pursue a degree in Sports Medicine. Along the way, he was introduced to the benefits of massage while training with friends from his church community. This encouraged him to pivot into the field of massage therapy and he applied to the National Holistic Institute. Human anatomy, Kinesiology and massage came easy to him and he's been using his abilities to facilitate healing and growth for his clients ever since. Joshua offers Swedish/Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, 
Sports, Hot Stone and Prenatal/Postnatal.

Annie has always been fascinated by the human experience (body & mind) seeing it as an incredible work of art with so many interconnecting parts that make up who we are & how we move through the world. Her work as a Board Certified Massage Therapist and as a Massage Instructor at the SF School of Massage & Bodywork only deepens her curiosity of the connections between body, mind, & spirit.

 

Using a variety of intentional and intuitive bodywork techniques, Annie partners with you to create a tailored, flowing massage for your session that helps you move with greater ease, calms your nervous system, and deeply nourishes your soul leaving you to feel just plain good both on and off the table.

 

In her free time, Annie can either be found ‘incatpacitated’ on the couch under Pip or Edgar, spending time with her loved ones, or exploring new places near and far!

Loba's journey into the world of massage therapy started when she was taking anthropology classes at the Peralta College. She was highly fascinated in human evolution, the body and all the systems that comprise our wonderful bodies.

 

Occasionally she would give friends and family members neck, shoulder and hand massages. Every one of them would always rave about how well she did and how relaxed they felt afterwards. Her mom always suggested that she should go to school and study massage therapy, but at the time, she had a corporate job and the thought of leaving was a leap that she wasn't ready to take. However, after a few months of weighing her options and realizing that she would have much more time, freedom and flexibility with being a massage therapist, she took the leap and signed up for classes at National Holistic Institute in Emeryville.

 

Loba loves that she has the opportunity to listen to and serve her clients according to their individual needs and concerns. She has a natural ability to locate areas of tension that may require more attention, she currently offers Swedish/Deep Tissue and Hot Stone massages. When she's not massaging clients, you can find her teaching art at Vallejo Schools, spending time with her family, meditating, reading or creating products for her business.
